Dear JBVA Members,
As the sand season approaches, your input is crucial as we plan to tailor this year's spring training to best serve our committed members.This year, we are implementing more of a boutique approach to training. This means:
Personalized Coaching: You'll receive coaching that's tailored to your individual skills and goals.
Focused Skill Development: Training sessions will be organized to cater to the specific skill levels within our group.
Quality Time on the Sand: We'll ensure you spend more time practicing against players of a similar skill level, maximizing the benefit of every drill and scrimmage.
Training
If you are interested in training with me this spring, I'm asking you to work with other parents/players and me to self-organize groups. I think this will ensure the best experiences for everyone. I’m available to run training Monday through Friday, 3:45 PM and 5:45 PM. Pricing is dependent on the commitment. One time sessions: $60 per player. One month commitment: $50 per player per session.
Tournaments
Our first tournament is at Baxter Jack’s Saturday March 16th. Starting in April, tournaments will be the second Saturday of each month. Additionally, I'm available for clinics on Saturdays or Sundays, providing even more opportunities for development.
Location
Baxter Jacks will continue to serve as our primary location. We have a group interested in starting a session at Floyd Central High School in Indiana (let me know if you are interested). I’m available to consider other venues. We are available here in Lexington for training 7 days a week but we primarily train on Sundays and Mondays.
Joey’s Beach Volleyball Academy Training
Launched in 2021, I founded JBVA out of a deep-seated love for the game of doubles beach volleyball. As a former professional beach volleyball players I have transitioned into coaching to help grow this amazing game!
Typical Lesson Plan:
•Navigating the Sand: Key techniques for moving and jumping in the sand, essential for mastering beach volleyball.
•Ball Control Drills: A deep dive into technique and footwork to lay the groundwork for all other skills.
•Comprehensive Fundamentals: Regular drills on passing, setting, hitting, serving, and defense, aimed at steady improvement with consistent, positive feedback.
•Customized Training: Adjusting our training intensity and focus based on the group's skill level, preparing athletes for tournament competition and aiding those with aspirations for college volleyball.
•Practice with Purpose: Sessions include focused skill work and 2v2 scrimmages, encouraging a supportive atmosphere of positive reinforcement.
My club offers a highly personalized coaching approach. My mission doesn’t involve conventional volume-driven training models. Instead, I focus on delivering a tailored, individualized training experience that adapts to each athlete's unique needs and aspirations.
